Novatel Wireless Merlin Type II Wireless IP Modem p/n NRM-6831. This wireless CDPD modem has a connection for an external antenna. It does not have a built in antenna. CDPD is still a great and mature technology. With exceedingly broad nationwide coverage and low monthly service costs it is perfect for applications that do not require high throughput (19,200 or less) but do require connectivity with an IP address out in that remote location in the middle of nowhere.

These PC cards were pulled from Symbol Palm or Pocket PC based barcode scanners but should work many systems that can accept a type 2 PC card (PDAs etc). Please check the model numbers and the drivers available from Novatel's website to make absolutely sure this will work with your system and that drivers are available for your operating system.

Also remember that you will need to get an antenna!!
